Online application for publishers wishing to participate in the launches of the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair

CAIRO – October 24, 2021: On October 24, the General Egyptian Book Organization began receiving applications from publishers who wish to participate in the upcoming Cairo International Book Fair [Online only].

The 53rd Cairo International Book Fair will be held from January 26 to February 6 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Colony. Greece will be the guest of honor at the book fair.

Egyptian Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem said it had been decided to allow publishers to apply online from October 24 to November 18, adding that all publishers wishing to participate in the 53rd edition of the book fair would be welcomed.

Abdel Dayem further stated that a room is allocated for the first time for children’s books and activities. This includes teaching aids and children’s textbooks, as well as all artistic, cultural, intellectual and creative activities.

The application is available on the online platform cairobookfair.gebo.gov.eg only and hand-delivered applications will not be accepted.

This edition will see the expansion of the exhibition and sales halls to reach five halls, the first and second halls being intended for Egyptian publishers, and the third being the main exhibition hall reserved for Arab and foreign publishers, in addition to Egyptians specialized in foreign writings.

The fourth room will be reserved for heritage book publishers, cultural institutions and Azbakeya Wall Libraries; while the fifth room will be devoted to the exhibition of books and activities for children.
