We also include ratings from the Better Business Bureau, which ranks companies based on how well they respond to customer issues and how transparent their business practices are.

How Vystar Credit Union Compares

We compared VyStar Credit Union to two other financial institutions featured in our guide to the best banks and credit unions in Florida: Bank of America and Ally Bank.

The choice between these three financial institutions will ultimately depend on your account preferences.

Ally Bank pays the highest rates on savings accounts, but with CDs it can go down Ally or Vystar. Vystar has a tiered interest rate on CDs, so you can earn a higher rate if you are able to deposit a minimum of $50,000 over a period.

If you are looking for a checking account, every financial institution has a valid option.

Bank of America offers the widest variety of checking accounts. With the Bank of America Advantage Plus Chequing Account, there are several ways to waive the $12 monthly service fee. You will also have access to a nationwide network of branches and ATMs.

Ally and Vystar both offer free checking accounts. The Ally Interest Chequing Account offers a higher interest rate. Meanwhile, the VyStar Credit Union Free Chequing Account offers advance direct deposit, so your paycheck can be processed up to two days sooner.
